Bill Christophersen is a teacher, critic, poet, editor and musician. Born and raised in the Bronx, he attended Bronx High School of Science and Columbia University, where he received a doctorate in American literature. He has taught literature and composition at the college level and edited for Newsweek and other periodicals. Bill is the author of two literary studies (The Apparition in the Glass: Charles Brockden Brown’s American Gothic and Resurrecting Leather-Stocking: Pathfinding in Jacksonian America), a range of academic articles, and four collections of poems. His book reviews have appeared in Newsweek, The New York Times Book Review and Poetry. A traditional musician and recording artist, he lives in New York and plays old-time, bluegrass and country music on fiddle and guitar
